️ Design & Technology Teacher – Secondary School in Sheffield
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Pay Rate: £150 – £225 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role
Choice Teachers are working with a well-respected secondary school in Sheffield to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate DT specialist to inspire creativity, problem-solving, and innovation across Key Stages 3 and 4. The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge across one or more areas of Design & Technology — including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Food Technology — and a proven ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
You will join a supportive and forward-thinking department committed to delivering high-quality lessons that prepare students for both exams and future careers in design and engineering.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on DT lessons that promote creativity and practical skills.

Teach across KS3 and KS4 following the national curriculum.

Maintain excellent classroom and behaviour management using proven strategies.

Ensure a safe and well-organised workshop or classroom environment.

Assess, record, and report on pupil progress in line with school policies.

Contribute to departmental development and enrichment projects.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level.

Strong knowledge of DT disciplines (Product Design, Engineering, or related fields).

Excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.

A creative, adaptable, and solution-focused teaching approach.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
