ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Design and Technology, available part time (three days a week) with the potential for a full-time role across two sites in Bromley.
This role is open to ECTs. The ideal candidate will be able to teach KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience desirable as this post offers the opportunity to teach Product Design up to KS5. Applicants should be up to date with current practices and show evidence of recent relevant training.
Students currently study AQA 3D Design at GCSE and AQA Product Design at KS5. KS3 pupils explore areas including Electronics, Design, Graphics, Computer-Aided Manufacturing, Mechanisms, and Food Technology.

Responsibilities include:

Lesson and curriculum planning

Development of teaching materials and resources

Participation in professional development

Monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning

Maintaining student records and progress data

Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and stakeholders

Acting as a form tutor and contributing to the pastoral system
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The successful candidate will:

Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree

Have experience teaching at secondary level (including teaching practice)

Understand effective teaching and learning strategies

Set high expectations for all students and ensure equality of access

Have strong subject knowledge at KS3 and KS4
-
Be confident using ICT in teaching and learning

Work well as part of a team and build positive relationships

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills
