Job Title: Design Technology/ Product Design Teacher

Location: Roundwood Park School, Harpenden, Hertfordshire
Pay: £100 – £250 per day
This is a full time cover role for an absent member of staff.
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive design technology/product design lessons to students.
- Create and implement lesson plans, ensuring they align with the curriculum and educational standards.
- Provide guidance and support to students in their design projects, promoting creativity and critical thinking.
- Evaluate and assess student work, providing constructive feedback to aid in their development.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the design technology/product design curriculum.
- Stay updated with advancements in design technology and incorporate them into teaching practises.
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
A degree in Design Technology, Product Design, or a related field is desired.
Prior experience teaching design technology or product design is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Confidence in delivering engaging lessons and managing a classroom.
- Punctuality and reliability in meeting teaching obligations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of design principles and processes.
Additional certifications or qualifications related to design technology or product design are advantageous.
The Design Technology/Product Design Teacher will primarily work within a classroom setting, interacting with students, colleagues, and parents. They may also be required to attend meetings and professional development sessions. The role involves working full-time hours on a temporary basis.
