Choice Teachers are seeking an experienced and confident Cover Supervisor to join one of our partnering secondary schools in the DE56 area of Derbyshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled classroom practitioner who is passionate about supporting teaching and learning, maintaining high standards, and ensuring continuity for students in the absence of their usual class teacher.

Key Responsibilities

Supervising lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with provided lesson plans.

Maintaining a calm, productive learning environment during teacher absence.

Managing classroom behaviour confidently and in accordance with school policies.

Supporting students with tasks across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) when required.

Encouraging positive engagement and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.

Recording attendance, reporting incidents, and providing clear feedback to teaching staff.

Upholding safeguarding responsibilities and promoting student wellbeing at all times.
What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or similar role within a school.

Strong classroom presence and excellent behaviour management skills.

Ability to follow lesson plans, maintain routines, and support learning effectively.

Basic understanding of core subjects to assist learners when needed.

A professional, adaptable, and resilient individual with strong communication skills.

A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
