Job Duties:

– Delivering high-quality computer science lessons to students in accordance with the curriculum guidelines.
– Planning and preparing engaging and interactive lesson materials to facilitate effective learning.
– Assessing and evaluating student progress, providing constructive feedback, and identifying areas for improvement.
– Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
– Supporting and guiding students in their computer science projects and assignments.
– Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field of computer science and integrating new technologies into the classroom.
– Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
– Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
– Communicating with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress.
– Participating in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.

Required Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
– Teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS) or equivalent certification.
– Relevant experience in teaching computer science at the secondary school level.
– Strong knowledge of computer science principles, programming languages, and software applications.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to effectively manage a classroom and engage students.
– Organisational skills and attention to detail.
– A commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Education:

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
– Teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS)

Experience:

– Relevant experience in teaching computer science at the secondary school level.

Knowledge and Skills:

– Strong knowledge of computer science principles, programming languages, and software applications.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to effectively manage a classroom and engage students.
– Organisational skills and attention to detail.
– Familiarity with the latest advancements in the field of computer science.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
– Additional teaching certifications or qualifications.
– Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
– Experience in integrating technology into the classroom.

Working Conditions:

– The computer science teacher will work in a secondary school setting in Wembley, Greater London.
– The role involves working full-time hours on a contract basis.
– The teacher will primarily work in a classroom environment, utilising technology and educational resources.
– Some additional time may be required for lesson planning, assessment, and participation in school-related activities.
