Behaviour Mentor – Secondary School | Wandsworth

Pay: £90–£100 per day
Choice Teachers is working with a dynamic secondary school in the Wandsworth area to recruit a confident and proactive Behaviour Mentor. This flexible, full-time role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and gaining meaningful experience in a school setting.
Ideal for: Psychology graduates, youth workers, aspiring therapists/counsellors, or experienced TAs with strong behaviour management skills.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will provide both classroom supervision and targeted behaviour support. You’ll play a vital role in helping students stay focused, re-engage with learning, and manage their behaviour positively.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise lessons in the absence of teachers using pre-prepared lesson plans

Maintain a calm and productive classroom environment

Support students with their work and respond to questions where appropriate

Provide additional support to students with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or trauma-related needs

Help manage behaviour both in and out of the classroom

Report attendance, behaviour incidents, and relevant feedback to staff

Follow all safeguarding and school behaviour policies consistently
We are looking for someone who:

Holds a degree in any subject (or has equivalent experience)

Has strong communication and behaviour management skills

Can confidently lead a classroom and apply consistent boundaries

Remains calm, professional, and proactive under pressure

Has experience working with young people (preferred but not essential)

Is emotionally intelligent, empathetic, and a team player

Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
