Choice Teachers are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Art and Design to join a successful secondary school in Orpington. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver engaging lessons, foster creativity, and make a real impact across all key stages.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Art and Design Teacher to teach across KS3 to KS5. Experience teaching Design Technology (Product Design) would be welcomed but is not essential. This position is open to both ECTs and experienced teachers, and part-time working will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Art and Design lessons across KS3–KS5.

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver a broad and creative curriculum.

  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

  • Create an inspiring, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support progress and wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Degree in Art, Design, or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching Art and Design at secondary level (KS3–KS4 required, KS5 desirable).

  • Excellent classroom management and creative teaching approach.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Commitment to high expectations and inclusive education.
