We are currently seeking experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils in Bradford schools who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This role requires resilience, patience, and a commitment to helping pupils achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs.

Implement strategies to help pupils regulate emotions, behaviour, and engagement.

Support class teachers in delivering structured learning and consistent routines.

Promote positive relationships, trust, and a safe learning environment.

De-escalate challenging situations and follow behaviour support plans.
-
Liaise with pastoral teams, SENCOs, and safeguarding leads.
-
Encourage pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Skills & Requirements
-
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs (essential).
-
UK school experience required.

Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with vulnerable learners.
-
Strong behaviour management and emotional resilience.
-
Calm, proactive, and confident in supporting challenging behaviour.
- Proven track record of de-escalation techniques

Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, or nurture principles (desirable).

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
